Instruction Manual
The
full-size Pixie was built by Paul H. Poberezny in the USA in the late 1960’s,
and was a development of his earlier Parasol “LN”. He
was
founding president of the Experimental Aircraft Association.
The Pixie
was produced as an Experimental class machine in accordance with the regulations
of the EAA.
It cruises at 83 mph, stalls at 30, and climbs at
500 fpm. The Pixie has a no-reserve range of 290 miles with and empty weight of
543 pounds, gross is 900. Fuel consumption is an incredibly low 3.5 gallons per
hour..
It was widely built due to its very simple structure and excellent
flying characteristics - it was powered by just a 60 BHP engine - and remains
popular - to this day DIY kits for the (full size) Pober Pixie are still being
sold in the USA.
The original machine is on display in the EAA Air Museum Foundation.
Our semi-scale model offers the same flying characteristics, and is quick and straightforward to build thanks to the GRP fuselage with integral cabane, ready-made built-up wing panels and other wooden, plastic and metal accessories. Most of the model’s components are either ready-made or highly pre-fabricated, and as a result the kit can even be recommended to the beginner to modelling.
The large wing area makes landings quite simple affairs, and the full ailerons allow easy trainer style flying from this scale model.

Description The component system is largely prefabricated, so it is an RTC (ready-to-cover) quick kit. The epoxy fuselage is pre-made and only requires a few wood frames glued inside to stiffen it for use. For the cockpit there is an ABS interior kit including instrument dashboard panel, and seat for a scale looking interior . The wings and tail are supplied pre-built from balsa and ready to cover. ABS engine cowling is included, ABS wheelspats included. |
