... we match the components so as to assemble a good outfit
Are you the kind of modeller that likes to build? Is the construction half the fun for you? If so you might want to consider a DIY model kit. Here are a few well thought out kits which are enjoyable to build …
Every aircraft self build kit needs extra items to finish it. Trouble is, it never says on the box what is NOT inside. We know what they are and we provide ALL the necessary parts. We give advice when asked.
Here are SEVEN absolutely complete outfits. They fly very
well. All are ideal beginners kits:

Elektro-CAT DIY 70"
Power-sailplane Lovely T-Tail
Motor Glider
For electric engines with a big 70" wing the Aero-Naut Electro Cat is an excellent flier
based on a stretched & streamlined Cessna 177 design. There is an
add-on optional snow ski undercarraige kit available which is an
interesting slant for winter flying.

Rocky
fast build ready-to-cover trainer motor glider kit
In electric engines the Rocky is a compact one metre budget sport
motor glider type design. The simplest
build with the least parts count we know of. Rocky comes with the
wood parts already pre-made, and is ready for your own colour choice of
covering to be added.
Intended specifically for parent-child partner teams, and 3 - 4 student
teams for a first build. Rocky is a very effective trainer which
beginners master in a shorter than usual period. |

Piper J3 Cub
Classic glow engine
trainer
We all know the Piper Cub. Anywhere real pilots are learning to fly at a
flying club the Cub can be seen regularly humming over the surrounding
countryside. This is a very strong 60" trainer.
A Piper Cub's fascination never lessens
for the scale modeller who likes a true copy of the real thing and is
flying it as a 2nd or 3rd plane. Being a tail
dragger it is more advanced than the standard trike trainers |

Kadett
LT-40 60" glow
engine trainer
This
famous high wing model is from the US, where it is one of the most well
known trainers ever. Full plans are included. But we would like to
especially mention the really excellent documentation that is inside the
box. The instruction book is almost an encyclopaedia on model plane
making, it is so comprehensive. Because of this, Kadett
LT-40 is very suitable for someone who has not built in wood before.
It is, in effect, a big plane that can be successfully made by a total
beginner. |

CAT-S DIY 70" Glider
Lovely T-Tail Glider
Gliders suit people
living near hilly areas so here's a "pure" glider
Aero-Naut's CAT-S glider is perfect for slope soaring all day from just one hand launch- from any slope facing the breeze.. Cat-S is is a wood version of Daisy MAX |

Piper Cub J3 .40,
Clipped Wing
Aerobat highwing advanced trainer
The clipped wing Cub is
another advanced trainer because the clipped wing speeds it up. So this is that rare thing -
a high wing aerobatic model. With an instructor you can learn to fly on
this. Not without. It is
a replacement for the low wing plane that normally comes as plane no 2 or 3.
It's a really good looking plane, that comes as a kit
to make, not an ARF. So it's also good for learning the building and
maintenance skills we all need in this hobby. The manual is a very thorough,
and well made book. |

Aero-Maxx
Large size quick build
electric trainer
Very nice large size
electric motor glider available ready built, and supplied as a
"ready-to-cover" quick build kit. Suitable for self teach, and without the
hassle of having to build a wing in your first model, is a nice combination.
Aero-Maxx is like a extra large version of rocky but with a take apart wing
which is handy for storage when not in use. |

Why have we picked these particular models to recommend to you? .... Well it happens that the design and wood quality in these particular kits is better than
other average kits. When built and in flight this results in a very slow landing speed, which is just right for learners who don't want to have to get the glue out for repairs after a bumpy landing.
Hint on RC Gifts:
SAVE MONEY …
A DIY kit takes time to build, so you don't have to buy the Fuelling-up and Engine Start pack immediately, they won't be necessary until AFTER the kit is built
