This trainer we recommend as a more windproof alternative to Arising Star. This is a bit faster than Arising Star due to it's semi symmetrical wing airfoil, so is a tad more lively. This makes it our favourite trainer for glowfuel model pilots.
Open
the big, colourful box and you'll find everything to hand; clear
photo-illustrated instruction manual, hardware bag including wheels,
spinner, linkages, fuel tank, just add engine, R/C and starting accessories. Have fun
at weekends & practice some new manoeuvres without risking your scale Model. |

A big
68ins span built and covered balsa framed Cub for a SONG! (Scale model for
basic trainer price.) We have managed to source this immaculately covered, pinned hinges pre-fitted (contrary to the instructions!), decals and trim applied, adjustable metal engine mount fitted, pushrods assembled, phew, the list just goes on, - for the very modest amount of money required to obtain ownership of this classic. All the usual accessories, metal engine mount plus blow-moulded indestructible spats and a huge photo-illustrated instruction manual, it's all there, it's amazing value and it's great with an MVVS 40 or 45! |

The clipped wing Cub is an
aerobatic plane. the clipped wing speeds it up. So this is that rare thing -
a high wing aerobatic model. With an instructor you can learn to fly on
this. Not without. What is it ideal for? Well, after learning to fly, it is
a replacement for the low wing plane that normally comes as plane no 2 or 3.
It's high wing favours flying in some locations. And you can learn to fly
aerobatic manoeuvres
with the same plane. That .... and the fact it's a really good looking plane, that comes as a kit to make, not an ARF. So it's also good for learning the building and maintenance skills we all need in this hobby. The manual is a very thorough, and well made book. |

Arising Star is an elegant high-wing model which makes an excellent choice for new pilots. The combination of generous wing area and airfoil endow Arising Star with extremely benign flying characteristics. The construction of the model is conventional, i.e. it is a built-up all-wood structure. It is surprisingly high quality ARF. Fuselage, wing and tail panels are supplied built and film-covered, while the ailerons, elevator and rudder are pre-hinged. To finish off the model only a few processes have to be completed, such as joining the wings, attaching the tail panels to the fuselage, mounting the motor, fuel tank and undercarriage, installing the RC system and linkages. This is more of a high wing scale model for easy flying by experienced pilots, rather than a basic trainer. Honestly it's a bit pretty to smash up while you are getting the hang of flying, but it can be used this way. It's strong enough. Lovely fibreglass fuselage. Quite fast for it's size, it is wind resistant as a result. But most of all, it's much faster than it looks
