Black Head, Ballyvaghan, Co Clare - West, N, NE & NW slope

Black Head is a granite headland of massive size that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean  on the west coast of Ireland, in Co Clare. It lies on the coast of The Burren, north of Fanore, about an hour's drive south from Galway City. It marke the south side of Galway Bay.

It is a rocky place so bring tough models!  Just check out the pictures. There is not a scrap of vegetation for some distance. But the slope - well it's just awesome.!

Access is available at the Lighthouse, from the main road, and the gradient is excellent. The coast road goes right round this flying site which faces in many wind directions.

 Please email me your info about where you fly, so I can include it..  n o r m _ f l y e r @ y a h o o . c o . u k
